Come visit this charming little town, once one of the most developed cities in Mexico thanks to its mining boom—and one of the first towns in the country to have electricity!
Today, it’s a quiet municipality where red and white walls, cobblestone streets, and adobe houses with red-tile roofs seem frozen in time. Its rich history, legends, and traditions earned it the title of Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) in 2011.
Some visitors say the highlight of this tour is the breathtaking scenery, surrounded by lush vegetation and majestic mountains. Others love the artisanal tequila tasting, the opal mine store, the local cuisine, the charming walk-through downtown, and even spotting coffee, walnut, and avocado trees along the way.
What truly sets this tour apart—beyond offering group discounts is that it is gay-friendly and most of the info. is given on the transportation so you can enjoy more free time. After lunch, you can either explore on your own or go with a guide to downtown to learn about certain highlights. Also, after knowing where the meeting point will be and the time, you could rent an ATV to visit the closest open mine, the old graveyard, the arena where the bull riding takes place, the chocolate factory, and pass by the gariton (fort), and some hidden alleys on the outskirt of the town.
Finally, we’ll gather again and return to Puerto Vallarta, dropping you off at your hotel or nearby. Believe me—your experience with us will surpass the rest!
